Sermon Notes: Who Hindered You?
Notes from Sermon – 10/3/2010
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
(Gal 5:1-6 KJV)
Our relationship with God is not based on any external signs or wonders. It is solely based on our faith in what Jesus did on the cross. Anything otherwise would place your salvation on a shaky foundation. Following rules or traditions, or seeking the “destiny” promised by name it and claim it ministries, fly in the face of the work of grace Jesus performed on the Cross. Faith is love and love is demonstrated solely by what we do for Christ. Jesus tells us that if we love him, we will keep his commandements. We have an obligation to obey the scriptures in all areas. Obedience is better than sacrifice!
Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
(Gal 5:7-8 KJV)
Where we are in our walks with God is directly impacted by the choices we make. We fail, we fall short, we go to the right or left simply because of the choices we make each and every day. If we are not as intimate with the Lord as we would like, we only have ourselves to blame. If we are giving in to temptation, we do so because that is what we want to do. Are you ready to grow in your intimacy with the Lord? Are you ready to present your body as a living sacrifice for Him? The only thing stopping you is you. Make the choice today!
